We have officially made way into 2017! How fun!
New Years is a time for self-reflection, to-do lists, and endless (and forgotten) gym memberships. I’m not going to lie, loosing a couple pounds has always been on the top of my new years resolution list for as long as I can remember.
This year, I’m trying something new. Yes, I made a list, but I’ve made a list of experiences rather than things that MUST be done.
- Find a hobby that makes me happy
- Find a way to exercise that is fun and enjoyable
- Learn a new language
- Continue writing, painting, and gardening
- Visit a museum once a month
- Try a new cuisine
- Connect with an old friend
So far, I’ve made good progress on a few of these items. I’ve started volunteering at a senior living center (new hobby!), I’ve continued painting and writing, I’ve been taking Arabic lessons, and I have a list of museums to see.
I can honestly say that I am happier now that I am doing things to make myself a better and more fulfilled person. What do YOU have on your list for 2017 and what are you doing to accomplish them?
